The published non-prorated limited lifetime warranty covers eligible original owners while they live in and own the home. A transfer runs to 50 years from the original installation, subject to its conditions.

PermaLock’s published warranty requires registration within 30 days after installation and full payment. It excludes faulty installation and hail damage except leakage caused by shingle perforation. Notice of a transfer is required within 30 days of the ownership change. The published fade and chalk coverage has a separate 40-year term; other exclusions also apply.
The manufacturer’s lab summary reports wind-uplift evaluation up to 165 mph. That test result does not guarantee every installed roof will be undamaged at that speed. Review the applicable product documents and proposed roof assembly together.

Installed cost depends on roof size, pitch, valleys and other details, existing layers, deck repairs, flashing and the selected finish. A material-only price does not describe the complete project. Compare written proposals for the same roof preparation and installation scope rather than relying on a single price per square foot.
Is PermaLock worth more upfront than asphalt?
It can be a good fit if you expect to stay in the home and place a high value on a durable roof and fewer future replacement projects. Compare complete installation scopes, the time you expect to own the home, maintenance needs and the written warranties. A higher price alone does not establish better value for your situation.
How do aluminum shingles compare with standing-seam metal roofing?
PermaLock uses individual aluminum shingles with interlocking edges, rather than long vertical standing-seam panels. The profiles create different looks. Compare the proposed metal, finish, roof assembly and installation details alongside appearance; “metal roof” alone does not tell you whether two proposals offer the same system.
Can it go over my existing shingles?
That requires a property assessment. Existing roof layers, deck condition, flashing, ventilation, manufacturer instructions and local requirements determine the appropriate assembly. An overlay should not be assumed in advance of that review.
What does Class 4 impact testing mean for hail?
PermaLock reports a Class 4 result under UL 2218 laboratory impact testing. That is a controlled test, not a promise that a real storm cannot dent or otherwise damage a roof. The published warranty excludes hail damage except leakage caused by shingle perforation; review the complete terms before choosing.
Does a lifetime product warranty also cover the installation?
Product and installation coverage are separate. PermaLock’s published sample limited warranty has original-owner, registration and transfer conditions and excludes faulty installation. Ask for the applicable manufacturer warranty and the written Super Siders installation coverage with your proposal.
